Been put in charge of upgrading our bulk liquid storage at the Ajman facility and I’ve got about two weeks to source half a dozen UN certified IBC tanks bulk storage solutions in UAE before the next audit cycle starts and I really don’t want to be the guy who buys a bunch of containers that fail inspection because the certification numbers don’t match the actual build spec or the paperwork looks like it was printed on a home inkjet, which has happened to me before with a different supplier and let me tell you having to explain that to a municipality officer while standing in a puddle of mild caustic solution is not a career highlight I’m eager to repeat. I was looking at the Crateco UN approved section and they list all the proper markings and the cage thickness specs which is more than I got from the last place that just sent me a photo of a pallet with a thumbs up emoji, but I’m still a little gun shy because I’ve learned that in this industry “UN certified” can sometimes mean “we found a sticker that looks close enough” if you’re not buying from someone who actually cares. Anyone here running these things for actual chemical transfer or intermediate bulk storage and had to flash the paperwork to a third party inspector and it actually held up, or did you find yourself in a weird gray area where the valve assembly was fine but the labeling started peeling off after the first washdown? Just trying to cover my bases before I sign off on a purchase order that’ll be sitting on my conscience for the next three years.
